Using more scraps!

Good Morning!

Tuesday Morning Sketches has a great sketch posted for using up scraps!  If you've been following my blog, you know that this year I've been trying to use up my scraps.  While looking through my scraps, I pulled out several pieces to decide from... and decided to use them all.  LOL

Hello again!

Another great way to spend a dreary Tuesday is over at Viva la Verve Sketches!  It is Week 2 and they have a great sketch.  To be honest, I didn't think I would like it at all.... but you'll be seeing a LOT of it.  It's so versatile!  I ended up making two cards because I couldn't which of my freebie images I wanted to use.  :)

Viva La Verve, Week 1

Good Morning!

I've been a bit slow about working on Week 1 with Viva la Verve sketches this month, but I finally finished the card.  :)  I admit that for me, working grey into a card was very difficult!  Silver would have been easier, but I wanted to challenge myself.  This certainly did  that!

While I didn't start out planning on using just scraps, it turned out that way.  :)  I love the butterfly paper from Graphic45.

Triple Time Stamping, without stamping!

Good Morning!

I found another Technique the other day while on pinterest, called Tripe Time Stamping.  Those of you who follow my blog know I'm not much of a stamper.  {Since discovering Mojo Monday and winning a few times, I have found the stamps themselves make a world of difference and have been stamping more.}  I went searching for how to directions on this new technique and found this YouTube Video from Brandys Cards.  I didn't want to use the stamping technique this time because I had found some patterned paper in my scrap piles.  Then I figured out how to use my Spellbinders instead.  Below are the cards I've finished, I have a few more on my table that I'll post when I finish them.

This was the very first one, I used my spellbinders Matting Basics B.  While I liked it, I thought the 1/4 borders were too large.

So I tried it with another Spellbinders set, Filigree Delight and ovals.  Since I only had one set of ovals, I couldn't do the border.  I wasn't thrilled with this one either.  Since both were done with scrap pieces, I didn't mind so much.  :)

I went back to using Matting basics B and using my trimmer to cut the solid paper borders.  I was very happy with how these turned out!
(You can click on the image to make it larger)
While I was happy with how these turned out, I had to add some bling to one of them! lol
I've made another small change to the new ones I'm working on, I'll post them when I'm done.

Have an awesome day!

Pretty in Pink and all scraps!

Good Morning!

It's Mojo Monday time, along with The Shabby Tea Room

Mojo Monday Sketch...
The Shabby Tea Room challenge is to use flowers, cream or white, pink and green and use ribbons or lace...
My take on both challenges...

While I was picking out papers to use from my scrap stash, I found several different scraps that I liked.  So naturally I made more.  Even the gems I used were scraps left over from larger pieces that I had cut up.    :)

The oval center on the following was a small scrap piece I've been saving for a year or two, I love that paper!

The next two cards and close up are also from a scrap of beautiful paper (in my opinion lol).  The scrap piece was 2.5 X 12 inches that I've had for over 6 years.  I love the paper, but was saving it for something special.  Ok, really I just didn't want to waste it but it was my favorite paper!  I finally figured out that saving it just meant that it was never seen because it was buried in my scrap drawer and that made NO sense.
