Gelatos

Good Morning!

Gelato's have been around for awhile now, but typical for me, I was a little slow jumping on that bandwagon.  lol    I finally picked some up this week and then spent some time looking at youtube video's and Pinterest figuring out how to use them.  I made 2 cards, using my new JustRite Stamp and Spellbinder's die and some tags that I haven't decided what to do with yet.

Using the baby wipes method and emboss resist, I came up with this card...

Using a combination of emboss resist, baby wipes and using a paint brush, I came up with the next card....

For the tags, I seen someone on Pinterest using a make up sponge to mix the gelatos...

They were fun to use and something totally different for me, I'll be using them more in the future!

Butterfly card

Good Morning!

I found a card on Pinterest that I really liked, here.  I didn't want to do hearts though, I wanted to experiment some more with the multi colored embossing that I did a short time ago, here.  I love how the butterflies turned out!

and put on my card...

My Inspiration Board

Good Morning!

As promised, here is the bulletin board I re-did, along with the clothes pins I "dressed up" a bit.

I started out with a large bulletin board, a plain Jane Walmart one.  I didn't take a before picture of it and I found the idea for re-doing mine HERE.  The 1/2 yard of material and 3 yards of ribbon came from Hobby Lobby.

The clothes pins I did before and after photo's of.  I started out with plain clothes pins like these....
I spray painted a dozen or so of them purple.  {I wouldn't suggest doing it exactly the way I did, because the hot glue didn't stick to some of the pins I spray painted.}  ...
Next, I hot glued thumb tacks to the back side of each of them.
Then I decorated them...

I wanted clothes pins (found the idea all over Pinterest! lol), because I wanted my bulletin board to be my "inspiration" board.  I plan to put my favorite cards up.  When I make a new favorite, I'll rotate it with one from the board and put it that one in my box to be used.  :)

All finished...

Mojo Monday #381

Good Morning!

Mojo Monday posted a new sketch yesterday.  I made two cards for this one, but only because I did not like how the first one turned out.  lol

The sketch...
My first (ugly lol) card....

My 2nd card turned out so much better, at least I think so.  Of course I used my Heartfelt Creations paper again :)   ....

I heat embossed the sentiment from Verve, using Zing metallic red.  While it was still hot, I added some JudiKins Extreme Peacock and heat embossed it again.  You can see some of the sparkle from the Extreme Peacock.  The camera didn't pick up on it very well.

I finished up re doing my bulletin board this weekend, I'll post that later this week.

Hearts and pansy's

Good Morning!

Believe it or not, no Heartfelt Creations paper today.  lol  I have several (hundred lol) images on my computer that I've been using in my projects lately.  One of today's cards is using a pansy image, one of my favorite flowers.  I just printed it out on regular copy paper and added some stickles to it.

The next card is super simple, just using glitter paper and shimmer paper along with my spellbinders heart die and twisted hearts embossing folder along with a MS punch for the border.  I also added pearls to it, but I did so after taking the first picture.  While I was cropping it, I was thinking it needed something....
Pretty (I think), but needed something else, so I added some pearls to it....

Amazing what such a small thing can do to change the whole look of a card.  I would love to hear what you use when your cards need that added something!

More Heartfelt Creations cards

Good Morning!

I have two more Heartfelt Creations cards today.  In case you didn't notice, I'm loving this paper!!  I also love the bow maker my husband made for me last year.  :)

{Stamps are from JustRite Stamps and of course the dies are spellbinders}

Train birthday card

Good Morning!

A few weeks ago my Grandson turned 3.  I realized today that I never posted his card, so here it is.

Everything on this card was leftover pieces.  :)  The sticker on top (that's hard to see lol) were from a package I bought when I first started making cards.

multi colored embossing & Tuesday Morning Sketches

Good Morning!

As I was reading my morning e-mail yesterday, I came across one from Splitcoaststampers about multi color embossing.  Stephanie did such a "cool" card, I had to try it.  :)
I decided to try it with my spellbinders butterfly dies.  I started out with a plain white paper...
I did one with two shades of purple and one with purple and pink.  I topped them off with JudiKins Extreme Peacock embossing powder.  I don't like messing with glitter, so this was perfect for me.
and layered them with a glue dot in the middle...
I also did the larger the butterfly, but I didn't do before and after photos of that one...
the background butterfly was done with ultra thick embossing powder, 2 coats, and then the Extreme Peacock embossing powder over the top of that.
I also played along with Tuesday Morning Sketches.  It's been awhile since I played along over there, I forgot how much I loved their sketches!  :)

With the slight change on the solid butterfly, my take on their sketch...

Mojo Monday

Good Afternoon!

I'm finally getting around to posting my Mojo Monday sketch for this week.  :)
The sketch...
My 1st take on this sketch...

Just like last week, I couldn't decide on which paper to use... so I made two cards.   All the pattern paper is from Heartfelt Creations.
