Good Morning!

I played along with Tuesday Morning Sketches this week.  They have a sketch this week that allowed me to use up some of the scraps I had left from my Raindrops on Roses paper from Heartfelt Creations.  Those that follow my blog know that is some of my favorite paper!  (I'm looking forward to Scrapbook Expo and hoping to buy some of it.)

My take on it...

On the inside, I did my usual pocket and added another tag that came with the set used on the front.  I can't wait to send this card to my sister.  :)

I'll post another Z Box Fold card I'm making this afternoon.

Z Box Fold card and a tip

Good Morning!

Earlier this week I received an e-mail from SCS (SplitCoastStampers) about a new tutorial on making a Z Box Fold card, also called a Double Z Fold, Z Fold and Box Fold.  For whatever reason, I could not get mine to turn out and went in search of different directions.  (Nothing was wrong with the directions themselves, I just was having "brain issues" with them.)   I found a youtube video done by Wow Nola Creations (awesome card!) and used those directions to make my base.  For a first try, I thought mine turned out ok.  Not as awesome as the samples on SCS and the you tube video, but that's ok.  lol

Now for my tip.  While killing time on Pinterest the other day, I read about a tip (and lost where I found it!  I'll post it when I find it) about dirty gross acrylic stamp pads and how to clean them!  I've tried all sorts of crazy things that are said to work, and don't!  Which is partly why after reading, I didn't save it.  Anyways, the tip was to put Purell hand sanitizer on the block and wipe off with paper towels or a cloth and buff it.  It really does clean it and make it look new again!!  I was so impressed that they looked brand new.  My newest block is 3 years old.  I don't do a lot of stamping, but I do a fair amount of embossing.  They were getting to the point I couldn't see through them anymore.  It was well worth the $2.99 to "save" all my blocks!

Mojo Monday #484

Good Morning!

I played along with Mojo Monday this week.  They had a fun sketch and I had wanted to use up some of my supplies before Scrapbook Expo in April. ( I have so much paper as it is, I'm having a hard time justifying buying more... but let's be honest, we all know I'm going to!  lol)  I had a piece of patterned paper that I really liked for this sketch.  As I was cutting out my squares, I realized I had enough to make 2 cards.

Like this morning's card, I added a pop dot to the inside pocket to make opening the card easier.  (Sorry for the fuzzy picture!)

Mojo Monday #483, part 1

Good Morning!

It's contest week over at Mojo Monday.
The only thing better than an awesome sketch (like the one this one), is when the minute you see it 2 or more card ideas pop into your head.  :)  As soon as I seen this sketch, I knew of 2 different elements I was going to use for the circle and what paper I was going to use it with.  I have a few other ideas, but I'm not so sure I can find the time.  :)

So, onto the sketch...

My take on this was using the items I bought from Paper Wishes, Picket Fence Foil Tole and the Picket Fence paper.

On the inside, I added my pocket like usual.  However, because the card front is a bit heavy and will be harder for some to open, I added some of the bling to the pocket.

Mojo Monday #482 part 2

Good Afternoon!

This morning while writing up my post for TMS, I was talking to my Mom on the phone.  I was telling her about finding all sorts of things while cleaning out my craft room a few weeks ago and the card I had made.  Because we had combined shipping for Paper Wishes when I had bought the brads used on this mornings post, she knew what I was talking about.  While talking, I remembered another set of brads I had bought and thought they would've worked perfect with Mojo Monday's sketch this week.  Of course then I had to made another card this afternoon.  It sure beats cleaning the master bath, which is what I should've been doing instead of playing in my craft room.  :)

Good Morning!

The paper is from Paper Wishes and the butterflies may be from there also, but I've had them for so long I don't remember anymore.  Another positive from deep cleaning my craftroom a few weeks ago.  :)
