2012 drought layout

Good Morning!

I did a layout following My Scraps and More's sketch #12.

The sketch...

When I first looked at the sketch, I thought Great, an easy sketch to follow, I won't be using my expression just a paper cutter.  I was SO wrong, however I can honestly say I'm glad I was!  I LOVE how this LO turned out.  I used my K&Company paper by Tim Coffey, Travel-Voyage, which is great fishing/water papers (even though my LO is about the drought!)  I used Paper Trimmings cartridge for the frame, cut at 5 and Art Nouveau for the cattails cut at 4.  I used the circle frame for StuckOnUSketches challenge using a wreath die cut around your picture.

I should have taken a photo of us hosing my son off outside before we would let him come in the house!  It was so gross!!  One of these days I would do a LO on my photos from the flood we had a few years ago, where the water was over the piers!

Tuesday Morning Sketches posted a great card sketch this week!  I worked on designing and cutting things out on Tuesday morning, but didn't get a chance to finish it until tonight.  The funny part is that I was so thrilled how the bear turned out, I forgot about following the sketch!  LOL  I had two of my three cards finished before I remembered.

Anniversary cards

Good Morning!

Yesterday Mojo Monday posted their sketch for this week.  I made 3 cards, each are almost the same, but I needed 3 female cards this month so I decided to do them all with this sketch.

While I loved the sketch, I don't care for square cards.  I followed the sketch and then put it on a 5 x 6.5 card.  :)

My Scraps and More Sketches posted sketch #13 this past Friday.  Every now and then I do a layout that I just LOVE... today was not one of those days!  The sketch was great and in my head everything looked good, but on paper... it just wasn't.   I decided to post it here anyways, although I'm not quite sure why yet.  lol

Sketches in Thyme!

Good Afternoon!

I took a few hours this afternoon and played in my craft room!   I worked on two different Sketches in Thyme sketches.  The first one I did was sketch #98.

This year for Christmas I worked on our family tree for my Mom.  I spent two months working 8 hours a day researching everything I could find, plus talking to relatives and getting their stories and putting all the pictures I could find together.  It ended up taking 4 books to hold all the info I had.  I came up 1500 names and almost 1000 pictures, although I only printed about 100 photo's.  My Mom was thrilled with her gift, so that was all that matter to me.  The layout today is of me giving her the books and showing her what was inside each book and how I laid them out.

The second sketch I did was # 99.

My take on their sketch...

The middle picture is of my Grandson "telling" his Mom what he thought of her touching his new toy!  I was so glad I had the camera ready and was able to get the shot of him biting her hand.  Except for his Mom, we all laughed so hard over that.  Good thing he's (in this picture) not quite 1 yet, or he would have gotten into a lot of trouble for that.  :)

Christmas LO

Good Morning!

Over at Sketches in Thyme they have an awesome double page LO sketch.  It was perfect for working on my Christmas pictures.

The word Christmas was from the Christmas solution cartridge cut at 2.5.  The snowflake border and snowflakes were cut from MS Seasonal cartridge.  The snowflake was cut at 2 and welded together using Design Studdo.  The smaller snowflakes were cut at 1.5

Halloween card

Good Morning!

I was visiting the Graphic45 blog on Monday, and they posted some awesome cards and a sketch.  I LOVED the cards!!  Even though there isn't anyplace around me that sells their paper, I wanted to make one anyways.  I had bought some Halloween cut outs last year and they were the closest thing I had to what was used on the G45 blog.  (Please note that these are from the Graphic45 blog!)

It was probably the most fun I had making cards in a while ~ I had "help" in the form of my Grandson.  Now, mine are NO where near as good as these, but I did like how they turned out.  :)

Good Morning!

It's been a great week so far, I've been able to spend time in my craft room for a little while every day!  I've been trying to catch up on past sketches, so this one from Creative Scrappers is from December 30.  I've also made a two more cards from the sketch I made on Tuesday.

My Grandson had gotten ahold of my cats toy and was whipping it around like he was a lion tamer!  I was amazed, but he didn't hit anyone.  lol  Those toys will be hidden well before he turns 2!!  :)

The picture is of my Grandson and nephew at Christmas at my Mom's house.  My Mom bought all three Grandson and Great Grandson's the same riding/pushing tog and they all loved it!  Both boy's in the picture were just two weeks shy of their 1st birthday.  (The one not shown was only 6 months old at the time and too young to be walking)  This was the only picture I took where both were on their feet at the same time! lol)

SOUS posted a sketch on Friday, found here.  I thought it was going to be a hard one for me to follow, it's not normally my type of sketch.  I decided I really needed to try and think outside my comfort zone, so to speak.

More cards...

Hi!
I've still in love with my K&Company paper, so I've been working on getting my "store" of cards built up.  The last craft fair depleted my supply of birthday and thank cards, which is a good thing!  I finally found a photo showing the paper I've been working with.

Over a year ago I made some thank you cards using Lacy Labels and they have been fairly popular, so I decided to make some more.  I made these ones the bigger 5 X 6.5.  I left off the sentiment on the front, I will add either Happy Birthday or Thank you or whatever I happen to need at the time.  I may be the only one who really likes these floral papers, but that's ok, I'll use them up sooner or later!

I also made up some 4.25 X 5.5 cards using the same paper pack.  I had to cut them with my expression since we all know I can't cut out shapes, especially if I want them to be even! lol

Butterfly Cards

Good Afternoon!
