Viva la Verve week one

Good Morning!

Last night while cleaning up my craft room, I ran across the sketch for week 1 at Viva la Verve (here) and my Mother's Day Stamp.  Honestly I think it had more to do with wanting to play instead of clean, but I'm going with an idea was born and I felt I needed to run with it.  LOL  Yeah, I don't think my husband believe that excuse either!  :)

Hummingbird die cuts

Good Morning!

My Mom and I went to Scrapbook Expo the other weekend.  We had a great time looking around at all the different things!  They didn't have the deals that they had last year, but I did buy a few things.  One of them was from a company I never heard of, Ellentina Cutting Dies.  I bought a pair of hummingbird dies.  I also bought a 15 count set of Faber-Castell metallic gelatos.  I used both to make the following card, along with my Spellbinder dies.

Good Morning, again!

I received my Verve order in the mail yesterday!  I love the 2 border dies and stamp that I bought!

While they don't emboss like the Spellbinders dies do, they cut like butter!  I used them for the VlV week3 sketch.

Good Morning!

I made the time to play along with TMS this week!

Sketch #297...

My take on the turned sketch...

For the butterfly border, I used a MS punch.  Where the green butterflies are, is where the butterfly is punched out.  I cut two bordered and glued in the left over green pieces.  This punch also has every other butterfly with wings that pop up, so I added gems there....

My verse was done with a Verve Stamp and embossed in green.  The outline was done with a white gel pen, my personal favorite is the Signo uni ball gell pen.  The paper is Heartfelt Creations...

Viva la Verve week 2

Good Morning!

Despite hubby being home sick this week, I managed to finish up a card started last weekend and another one I started on Monday for Viva la Verve Sketches, week 2.

The Sketch...

My first take I made because my awesome Mom in law loves Sunflowers, although it wasn't one of my favorites...

My 2nd take took more work.  I cut the anchor out of cardboard, colored it with my Gelato's and coated it first in ultra thick embossing powder and then with Judkins Extreme Peacock.  The papers are all K&Company.

I needed a thank you card for my brother this week, so I played along with Tuesday Morning Sketches.

For my take on it, I used a Verve stamp and heat embossed it in white and then colored it with green and blues gelato's, using a different shape.

Viva la Verve Week 1

Good Afternoon!

Viva la Verve put out their week 1 sketch for April.
The sketch...

Before I get to my take on the sketch, I want to show you the flower I used for the card.  All I had were a package of pink flowers from Michael's...

Since I was doing my card in blue, these would not work.  I looked around around my scrap room and found my bottle of Glimmer Mist...

and it worked perfectly!

So, my take on the sketch and some detail photos...
