Happy New Year!

I've spent some time in my craft room over the holiday season.  All the sketch sites I normally follow were "closed" (for lack of a better word) for the holidays, so I decided to make some different shaped cards.  I hadn't done that for awhile, so here goes...

Good Afternoon!

I've been working on using up some paper scraps.  I started over the weekend, using 6x6 and 8x8 one sheet wonders.  I had cut out pieces to make several cards and had finished glueing them together.  Not thinking about the finishing touches, I took pictures of the cards I made.

As I was putting the pictures on my computer, I realized that I hadn't embellished them like I usually do.  The differences between the two when you compare them is amazing, I think.

The top card was embellished with stickles and the birdbath card I added stickles and liquid pearls.

I also made the following cards today, roughly following the Mojo Monday sketch from this week...

It's contest week over at Mojo Monday!  This sketch is close to the sketch over at Viva la Verve Sketches last month, so I used the same paper I used for that card.

One Sheet Wonders

Happy Saturday,

I pulled out the layout for the One Sheet Wonders I found on Joyfully Made Designs awhile ago.  I was down to mostly scraps from my favorite Heartfelt Creations paper Raindrops on Roses.  While I didn't cut a 8x8 or 6x6 piece of paper, I did use the layouts & ideas to use up a bunch of my scraps.

While this is a great way to use up scraps, I really need to do this about halfway through the papers.  When I wait till almost every full page is used, I don't have enough to do background sheets.  I'm not a fan of plain backgrounds, but I think some of them worked out that way.

Viva la Verve, November sketch 2

Good Morning again!

I also played along with Viva la Verve sketches today.  I really wasn't sure I would be happy with any cards made with this sketch, but I was very pleasantly surprised!  This sketch turned into a lot of fun, except when I finished the card and realized that I forgot the ribbon that was sitting on my table.  :)
