Bridal Shower Cards

Good Morning,

My daughter's bridal shower is this Sunday, so I really needed to get to work making two cards!  We didn't get back from Texas until late Sunday night, so I'm in a huge hurry to get things done and caught up!

My Mom -in - law sent home with me one of her first "pen and ink" drawings that she made roughly 60 years ago, called "Texas Wildflowers."  She's giving it to my daughter for her shower.   At 89 years old, the trip to Wisconsin is just too much for her.  

I used her picture for a theme for the two cards I needed (1 from me and 1 from my MIL).  I followed along with Mojo Monday and Tuesday Morning Sketches.

10 years ago at my wedding, she painted me a picture also, which my darling daughter keep trying to take! lol  I have a painting that goes with it for my daughter's wedding also, I post that when I make her wedding card from my MIL.

Thank you to all those who wish my In-Laws a happy 70th anniversary!

While I'm so happy they had 70 wonderful, happy years together, I'm so sad to say we lost my Dad-in-law yesterday.  I had been working on a card for them when we got the call and I just can't bring myself to finish it.  He was the best Texan I ever met (second only to my husband and Mom-in-law).  The world lost a great person yesterday.

Boys Rule has posted a sketch, it's been awhile for them, but it's a great sketch!!

I turned it into a card sketch this time, but I'm thinking I may use it again for a layout too.  :)  I just couldn't resist using my G45 papers and sticker for this card.

Father's Day Cards

Good Morning!

Another wonderful sketch went up on Tuesday over at Tuesday Morning Sketches!

Since I wasn't thinking about Father's Day, I didn't have any cards ready to go.  Oopps!  This seemed like the perfect "male type" sketch, so I made two.  lol

Because both my Mom and Mother in law cut off the tops of my cards and reuse them, I didn't add a "happy father's day" to the outside of the card.

Birthday card for Vicky

Good Morning, again!

Mojo Monday posted sketch # 297 today!  I stuck a lot of time and detail in this card making it a birthday card for my friend Vicky... Happy Birthday Vicky!  I also followed The Shabby Tea Room's Sweet as Sugar inspiration.

which was way to plain!   lol  I added liquid pearls in blue and pink and used white and blue gel pens.

It was embossed with the new Anna Griffin Rosa folder and lightly inked in pink over the top, although it's hard to see in the photo!
