Frosted Design Sketch

Good Afternoon!

I was surfing the web this morning while drinking my coffee, and ran across THIS post! I love what the design team had come up. Even though that's not normally how I do my scrap pages, I decided to try it.

I only used my bug to make the fur babies banner. The words came from Elegant Cakes, cut @ 1 and the banner is from the Wedding solutions cart, cut @ 2.

The bling is all Recollections, from Michael's.

I'm pleased with how it turned out.

Cindy Loo Valentine's

Good Afternoon!

I was making some valentine's day cards and had seen on She's a Sassy Lady's blog a giveaway she is having for those making Shape cards. I made 2 shape cards and 2 regular cards.

This one was cut @ 4.25 from Cindy Loo:

This one was cut @ 4.5:

For this one, the shadow was cut @ 5 and using DS I attached it to the shaped square measuring 4.25 x 5.5:

The inside on this one says "We're NUTS about you! Happy Valentine's Day."

For this one, the shadow was cut @ 4 and then I added a second one and flipped it. Using a 1 x 2 square (tweaked in DS) and welded together:

Zach and Sassy LO

Good Morning!

I'm slowly but surely catching up on last years pictures! :) Today's simple LO is my youngest son Zach and middle cat Sassy. (We've told her, but she doesn't believe she's not a parrot! Her favorite perch is on someone's shoulders!)

The letters are from Nate's ABC's @ 2 for Zach and 1 1/2 for Sassy. The border is from MS Elegant @ 4 x 12.

Lovely Floral LO

Good Morning!

Another simple LO today. While this one turned out ok, it was nothing like what I had envisioned when I started it! I was going to use a sketch, but this was one of those LO's where nothing turned out as planned. lol I now have a new collection of finished cuts in my drawer! One of these days I will take a picture of the drawer and start using the things I already have made up.

Anyway, I cut Beautiful out of Lovely Floral @ 4 and the butterflies @ 1 and 2. The paper, of course! is K&Company.

Organizaning my craft room

Good Morning!

I've been working on cleaning up and organizing my craft room the last week or so and I wanted to show you some of what I've done. I've been working in what use to be a closet, it still is of course, it just doesn't have the doors anymore. This is how it looked when I started.

I went out and bought 2 purple boxes from Michael's.

and one smaller box.

Here I found Okie's idea for sorting her carts and handbooks. After I made a few of the folders like hers, I decided it was so much faster and easier to just cut the folders and buy some Index Tabs. My folders are 7.25 x 9.5. I used up some really ugly paper that I had NO idea what to do with! LOL

About 90 folders or so later, I filled up both purple boxes. In the small box I put a few carts that didn't fit in another box I had and I put the overlays from the solutions cartridges.

The pink box has the cartridges in it.

From Scrapbooks ect I found a great idea for storing my paper and sticker/border, ect sets together. I found the skirt hangers and bed, bath and beyond for $6.99 minus my 20% off coupon.

It's in the picture because I forgot to move it and I haven't figured out how I want to store them yet. My left over flowers from other projects are sitting in a small {empty!} garbage can. Trouble is supervising the progress I'm making.

I think the shelves look so much better without the cartridge boxes taking up two shelves. {The empty boxes are now in the attic in a tote, although I'm not sure why I am hanging on to them.}

The other half of the room is my office, so there are no pictures of that.

Vintage Valentine's Day cards

Good Morning!

This week at Sweetsassydiva's the theme is Vintage Valentine's. I made two cards, mostly because I wasn't real thrilled with the first one. The second one I made for my DH. While he isn't really isn't into trains, several years ago while driving around looking at Christmas lights we seen a train set outside and he laughingly said "Look at the choo choo's!" My daughter and I will never let him forget that!! Every time we see a train we tease him about it, so when I seen the vintage valentine train I knew I had to make it for him.

The first card was made with spellbinder's dies.

I inked the edges in red.

I added some red ribbon.

And attached it to a red card.

The next card I made was a twisted easel card. (The first one I made can be found HERE.)
I started out with a 12 x 6 and a 6x6 piece of red paper.

I used my MS scoreboard and scored the 12x6 piece at 6 and then again diagonally.

Add glue to the folded over side

Attach the 6x6 piece to the glue.

I went back to my spellbinders and cut out the train image and a blue background. I inked the train image in a light blue.

I cut 2 pieces of patterned paper just a hair under 6x6. I attached the first square to the top piece.

I used my gel pen to add "stitching" and some bling to it. Then I added my train image and mat

I used some gems from Michaels for the "smoke" from the train.

I added the second piece of patterned paper that I cut earlier and added it the inside. I cut two more boarders from spellbinders for my inside saying. I used a big blue gem to hold the card up and two corners to dress it up a bit.
