Halloween Banner

Good Morning!

This week at SweetSassyDiva's the design team was asked to make Halloween banners. I've made a few banners in the past, so I decided to do more of a mobile type wall hanging/banner. I started out with 4 sets of 3 scalloped ovals in orange @ 7.17, black @ 6.825 and purple @ 6.5.

Because the black was going to be hidden except for the edges anyway, I saved some paper and cut some of my images out of the black ovals. (I didn't do that on the orange because I wouldn't want that seen on the back side)

The easy part was gluing all three pieces together using my pink ATG tape.

For the top piece that my ovals would attach to, I used Lacy Labels. I cut all three layers at 4.5 and glued them down. Happy Halloween was cut from MS Seasonal @ 2.25. (the picture is missing the orange piece I hadn't added yet)

Using Design Studio I picked out all the images I wanted to use on my ovals. To save typing and time, I'll just list a recipe of them.

From PDDU, the skelton was cut @ 5, the bat @ .75, the bag @ 1.5 and the cat @ 2.15. I used pop dots on the cat and bat.

The Wizzard was cut @ 4, also from Paper Doll Dress Up. I used stickels on the beard and a black marker.

The Magician was cut @ 5. I used a white gel pen, a black marker and a pink marker. (NOTE: I added the eyes and "buttons" after I attached them to the ovals on all 3 "dolls", after these pictures were taken.)

The ballerina was cut @ 5. I used gold stickles on her headpiece. I used my Viva Decor violet pen on the floral belt and shoes.

I used some craft ribbon to make a double bow, which I used glue dots to attach to the top piece of the banner. I then cut 2 strips of 35 inch ribbon and attached to the back of the top banner.

I used my pink ATG tape to attach each oval at intervals.

I love how this turned out! A major bonus was the fun I had making it. PDDU has so many great cuts on it.

New DCWV Fall Harvest Gathering Stack

I picked up the new DCWV fall stack at JoAnn's the other day thinking it would be great for making cards. That turned out to be very true! lol

I spent part of one day at the lake just cutting up the paper to 4X5.25 sizes. The next day I put together 25 cards using some left overs that I had. I still have more to make, but I ran out of time. lol

Matching Exploding Box and Card

My youngest son bought his girlfriend a very nice pair of earrings for her birthday. He wanted an exploding box to put the earring in, since she really liked the last one I made (found here). I used K&Company paper and made a 3 in box. From Sweet Treats I made the flower @ 3 and from floral shoppe I made the inside of the flower, @ 2.5.

I made the matching card the same way.

At the crop, LO

I'm finally getting started on some lay outs! LOL This is from a crop at Archivers that Melissa from the Cricut Circle put together. It was also a great time to finally use the Circle 3rd quarter cartridge, Cricut Everyday. I think this is the first time I ever used just one cartridge to do a layout.

Falling Leaf Card

The leaf was cut @ 2 and inked in several layers. The first layer of ink was Poppy...

the second layer was in rust...

the third layer was in pumpkin spice...

and the last layer was thatched straw.

I cut some in green and some in brown. All had a yellow layered leaf. The paper is last years DCWV paper.

Apple of my eye

Good Morning!

This week at SSD, the DT is celebrating national Apple week!

I did a simple frame using Fancy Frames, Just Because and Give a Hoot cartridges and green stickles and a white gel pen.

The frame was cut at 6.817 X 8.154. I used that size to put a 3.5 X 3.75 picture in it.

The Apple border was cut @ 1.5 and I welded two together for each side. I ended up cutting part of the border off on one side of apple on two borders. I added the extra piece to the other side of the apple core. I just used scotch tape since it was on the backside.

I then cut 8 of the layer pieces for the border. I did 8 each in red of the apple and 8 each in white and red of the core. For the apples it was simply layered on top of the green border. For the core I glued the white piece down first the cut the top and bottom off of the red piece and glued them down.

I used green stickles for the apple leaf.

Apple of my eye was cut from Just Because @ 6 in red with a white layered words.

I think it will make a great frame for my Grandchild's ultrasound picture.
