I've seen these boxes all over the internet, so I decided to figure out how to make one. I used a 12x12 sheet of white paper and scored at 4 and 8, turned the sheet and scored at 4 and 8 again.
I cut out each corner.
For the inside of the box, I cut 5 dark rose squares @ 3.75, 4 white square @ 3.5 and the DCWV The four Season Stack patterned paper @ 3.25, inking around the edges on the top two layers. For the center square I embossed the dark rose paper. I cut out the image and background in rose and white respectively from Straight from the Next at 3.5. I hot glued the rose and leaves in the center. The roses and leaves are Recollections collection, Boutique Fleur.
For the outside of the box, I cut the dark rose paper @ 3.75 and embossed them. The heart shaped cuts are also from Straight from the Nest, @ 3.5.
I hot glued the roses to the center of each square.
To make the lid, I used a 6x6 piece of white paper, scoring @ 1 and 5, turning the paper and scoring @ 1 and 5 again. Just like the box I cut off each corner. I cut another dark rose square @ 3.75 and added the same image as the bottom inside of the box, cut @ 3.5. To keep the lid together, I used some pink craft ribbon (sorry I forgot to measure it!) and glued it all around the sides. I finished the top of the lid the same way I did the sides, with the exception of adding some little brads to it.

It is so much my pleasure to have you sharing your design on my blog sweetie. Hugs. Love how this project turned out and love how you used scissors to make the box. We often times get so dependent on technology that doing it in old fashioned way is great. TFS
ReplyDeleteThat is so pretty!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! Thanks for showing how you made this. TFS
ReplyDeleteVery pretty box. I wanted to say I like your kitties too. I have a black one and a gray tabby. I just don't have a white one. The two I have are enough though. They don't stay on their own side of the room and I keep threatening to lock them out. LOL
ReplyDeleteThat is so gorgeous!
