Welcome Baby

Good Morning!

I found a new card sketch blog a few weeks ago and I finally have the time to do one of their challenges.  If you have a few minutes, check out Tuesday Morning Sketches.  Their DT does some great cards, along with those who play along.

The sketch:
((Found HERE ))

I made two cards with this sketch.  For the first card, my nephew's baby was born on Monday, so I needed one for them.

I used Straight from the Nest for the branch and the "welcome".  I used stickles and liquid pearls for the flowers.  I used Picturesque for the nest and a white gel pen.  The bird is from Stamping.

And a spare:

The letters are from Art Nouveau and the welcome from Straight from the Nest.

Now what's a baby card without a picture of the baby?!  My nephew leaves for the Army on Monday, so Nikki was induced a 1 day early so Randy could be there for the birth.

4th of July wall hanging

Good Morning!

There is a challenge over at the cricut circle this week.  I haven't been doing these lately, but since I already had the idea for a wall hanging I decided to do this one.

The Challenge: Create a Cricut project of your choice incorporating at least 3 stars and stripes somewhere on your project.
Rules and Guidelines: Circle Blog Challenges are open to Cricut Circle Members only. Your project must be newly created for this challenge and include atleast 2 Cricut Image Cuts. You must submit a project to be entered into the Challenge Prize Drawing. One entry per person, please.

  Some detail photos:

The stars were cut @ 11 and 10 from George.  The fireworks were cut @ 6.5 from Stand and Salute.  The fire cracker was cut @ 6 from Stand and Salute and the boy on the rocket was from A Child's Year, also cut @ 6.  The stars, between each big star was cut @ 2 and 1.5.  I used stickles, a white gel pen and liquid pearls to decorate it.

Need a purramedic?

Good Morning,

I made a Hello Kitty card last Friday (found here) and the few people I showed it to really liked it.  I decided to make a few more, but I wanted to do something different with the purple flower.  I used flower soft on two of them in different colors.  I really liked how the pink turned out.

The only thing I don't like about flower soft is it flakes off in the mail.  Over the purple flower soft I tried using glossy accent, but I really didn't like how it turned out.

I tried using two different colors of stickles, but I didn't care for that either.

Like most people, I am my own worst critic!  I would really appreciate your opinions on the three types of flowers!!  Since I didn't care for two of them, you won't hurt my feelings.  :)

Mojo Monday #247

Good Morning!

Mojo Monday has a new sketch up.

I decided to do the square card.  I rarely do square cards, but I decided to try it this time around and I was really pleased with how it turned out.  I used the K&Company TC Travel paper pack and sticker package.  I LOVE the papers in this pack.  They will get used up this summer since we spend the majority of our free time fishing.  My gypsy loves sitting on the boat soaking up the sun.  lol

SOUS sketch

Good Morning!

Another great sketch from Stuck On U Sketches.  I think the design team outdid themselves this time with their layouts.

Creative Scrappers #214

Good Afternoon!

Creative Scrappers has another sketch up, #214.

Sassy is so young at heart, she likes to make her own "forts"... in the sheers!  LOL  She does this every afternoon.  The other two cats come into the kitchen while I'm making lunch so Sassy takes advantage of their being out of my craft room/office.

Feline unwell?

Good Morning!

It's been a rough week for my husband and I this week.  On Tuesday we were coming home from the grocery store and just a couple hundred feet from home we were hit by a car who crossed the center lane.  I think the most frustrating  part is we've only had our car less than 1 year.

Thank God everyone is ok.  I went to the Dr. to make sure nothing was broken, that I just had bruises from the seat belt.  I've become friends with a icepack the last couple of days.

One of the web pages I look at every morning while drinking my coffee is LOLcats.  It's my daily laugh.  On Wednesday I found this picture and it fit in with the week.

I had to make of card using the saying.  So I pulled out Hello Kitty and this is what I came up with.

Thanks for looking!  Have a safe weekend and watch out for other cars!!

Mojo Monday cards

Good Morning!

Mojo Monday has a new card sketch up this week.

I needed a few birthday cards this week for different age groups, so I made several.  The first group of cards I used DCWV Confetti stack.

The sea shells cards I used K&Company's Tim Coffey Travel stack.

For the floral card I used a stack from Walmart.

Creative Scrappers #213

Good Morning!

Creative Scrappers has another sketch up, #213.

My take on this sketch...

It's a shame I can't attach sound to the layout.  The first picture my Grandson was yelling/talking and it was so funny!  It's amazing how loud a 5 month can get when "talking"!!

Mojo Monday Sketch

Good Morning!

This past Monday, as always, Mojo Monday put up the card sketch for this week.  I looked at it Monday morning and decided I really didn't care for the sketch.  I closed out my web browser and didn't think about it again...until today.  I realized I needed an anniversary card for a good friend and I didn't really have any idea of what I wanted to do.  So back I went to Mojo Monday and looked at the sketch again.

I realized this would actually be the perfect card for all the small pieces of patterned paper that I liked to much to throw away, but were too small to do much with.  Those who follow my blog know that this year my goal is to use up my scraps!  This is what I came up with.
