I have two cards today, one for Easter and one for Mother's Day. Both of them were made using my Gelato's. For the Easter card, the stamp is Verve, the bunny was made using my Cricut Expression (last year lol) and the background page is from DCWV.
Below I created a pocket on the inside using some of background paper and glued down the sides and bottom so I can insert a tag when I get that far. :)
The Mother's Day card was stamped on top of a piece of white watercolor paper I had coated in Gesso. After coloring it in 3 shades of blue, I added a touch of gesso where I was going to stamp my sentiment. I used blue Zing embossing powder after stamping with versa mark.
The corner is one I made using my spellbinders die, colored it with
Gelato's and coated it with clear embossing powder and adding some
stickles to it.
The bow I made using the the bow maker my awesome hubby made for me over the winter.
It's Week 3 over at Viva la Verve Sketches and I just finished up my card. I had it all cut out last night, but was waiting on the liquid pearls to dry. :)
My take on it...
A detail photo....
I made my own card base this time, so that it opens upward instead of over. Honestly, I did it because I needed the card base 1/8 inch bigger than the store bought ones I had on hand. :)
Like I did when using up my scraps last weekend, I really like making a small pocket on the inside. That way I can just insert a blank piece of white paper now or wait until I need the card and then type something. No worries about matching paper or anything else, because it's already done.
I was able to finish up my card for Tuesday Morning Sketches! While this one wasn't totally made with scraps, I do love how it turned out. :) I used Heartfelt Creations paper and a Verve stamp with embossing powder.
I enjoy making cards and scrapbooking. I think it's a great way to relax while being able to share my creations with others. Scrapbooking is also a great way to share my family's history for years to come.
