{Mojo} Monday #501

Hello!

I was so excited this week to see Julia Tilman's Facebook post about putting up a sketch on her blog.  While I love playing along with TMS, there was just something special about Mojo Monday!

TMS #473

Good Morning!

Tuesday Morning Sketches had a really interesting sketch this week!
The sketch...

My take on it...

I had so many ideas when I seen this sketch, but it's been one of those weeks where the ideas in my head didn't match up with what I tried to do.  I've worked on several cards using this sketch, but this is the only one I've finished up so far.

Leaf frame cards

Good Morning!

A few weeks ago I found some Spellbinder dies on clearance at HobbyLobby and I bought 3 of them.  Typically, the 1 that I bought and didn't think I'd use much, turned out to be my favorite.  :)

Both background were made with Distress Oxide inks and photo paper.  The butterflies were from Verve stamps and the frame is Spellbinders.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Birthday card

Good Afternoon!

My Granddaughter turned 1 on Wednesday and this is the card I made for her.  I used a stencil and distress oxides for the background and Teddy Bear Parade for the bear and the clothes.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #472

Good Morning!

I played along with Tuesday Morning Sketches this week.  I was looking at the sketch, thinking how am I going to do this when it hit me that my butterfly die from Heartfelt Creations would be a perfect fit to this sketch.

The background was made with distress oxide inks, along with the coloring on the butterfly.

Distress Oxides and Jennifer McGuire's teaching skills!

Good Morning!

I don't have an actual card done today, but I wanted to give credit to Jennifer McGuire and her teaching skills!  I've been watching her video's on Distress Oxide Inks.  If you've been following my blog for awhile, you all know I suck at stamping.  lol  I can do phrases (usually!) without a problem, but stamping is just not my thing.  No matter how hard I've tried.  :)

When I seen Jennifer's video's on Distress Oxides though, I had to give it a try.  This is the post that really got me interested in DO's.  I actually keep that tab open on my browser for inspiration.

These are the panels I did this morning instead of cleaning my house.  :)

These were done on Alcohol Ink paper.  (According to a Tim Holtz video, do not use Yupo Paper)

The next 2 were done on Glossy card stock

This one was done on Strathmore Mixed Media paper
The plan for these panels are to make my Christmas cards.  I played along with Freshly Made Sketches, #352 the other day, on this blog post.  The plan is to make more like that.  I also have another idea, but haven't worked it out yet.

Freshly Made Sketches #352

Hello again!

I know I haven't posted much lately, but I promise this will be the last one today.  :)

I found another new (to me) sketch site.  I actually found it a few weeks ago, but today has been the first day I've been able to play along with Freshly Made Sketches.  (Because we were out of town, I missed the cut off date, but I wanted to post this anyway)

The sketch, #352

My take on it...

The snowflakes (there are 3 that I put together with popdots) and the bottom panel were made with Alcohol Ink Cardstock and Distress Oxide inks.  I'm a terrible stamper, so I never did much with distress inks.  I decided to give it a try with the oxide inks and I'm loving playing with them.  I'm still a terrible stamper, but blending I can do.  :)

CAS(E) this sketch #287

Hello!

While looking around today, I found some new sketch sites that look interesting.  I've been a bit lost since Mojo Monday and Viva la Verve closed... thankfully Tuesday Morning Sketches is still going strong!

The first site I found, and played along with, is CAS(E) this Sketch!

#287 is this week's sketch..

TMS #467

Hello!

I've been playing in my craft room the last few days with Distress Oxide Inks and I've made some really nice (I think!) background papers, but I wasn't sure what to do with them.  So I hopped over to my favorite Sketch site, Tuesday Morning Sketches and I loved their new sketch, here

I was able to use my background for the scalloped rectangle and butterflies.  I love how this all came together... and so fast.  I usually take over an hour to make a card, but this one came together in 15 minutes.  :)

Have a great day!

TMS #464

Good afternoon!

I played along with Tuesday Morning Sketches this week.  They have an awesome sketch up that you could do so many different things with!  I had hoped to finish up a couple different cards with the sketch, but my Grand Children take up so much of my time in the summer, maybe next week.   :)

Craft room and assorted cards

Hello again,

I finally finished organizing my craft room/office/cat space!  I made a few cards, just to make sure where and how I have everything will work for me.  For the storage for my dies, I followed along with what Jennifer Mcquire did in her room.  I had been using the Art Bins for storing them, but when I needed to buy another one (the 5th one!), I decided they just didn't make sense for me to use anymore.  I really like how this is working out!

Anyways, this is what I've come up with for my room and the cards I've made.

Every time I'm able to save some space, the cats "demand" that some of their things come in here too.  lol  Not only is their litter box in here, since they spend so much time with me in here it made sense, but now their cat tree is in front of the window too.

Good Morning!

I played along with Tuesday Morning Sketches today.  As soon as I seen their sketch, I knew the perfect paper to use.  I love when that happens.  :)

The papers were from Heartfelt Creations, the Lush Lilac collection.  I LOVE the papers in this pack, so much so that I bought two.  lol
