Boy's Rule Sketch~ Key to my Heart

Good Morning!
Boy's Rule has their final March sketch up, HERE!

I love following their sketches. Not only do they (usually!) turn out great, they are not the types of layouts I normally do so it's a challenge for me to follow them. I will admit I'm not totally crazy about the layout I did today. It's been one of "those" days today. Anyways, I used two cartridges today, Sentimentals and MS Elegant. MS Elegant I used for the border, cut at 1. I used Sentimentals for the heart, phrase and keys. The heart and keys were cut at 2.5 and the phrase at 1.5. All the patterned paper was from DCWV, the Tradewinds Stack.

The picture didn't turn out the best, sorry.

Creative Scrappers sketch #201

Good Afternoon!

Today I'm following a sketch from Creative Scrappers.

I took the leftover pieces and extra's that I cut from yesterday's post and added "twinkle twinkle" from Nursery Rhymes, cut @ 3.5. I also used my MS punch for the borders.

Sketch savvy sketc #41

Good Morning!

I followed another Sketch Savvy sketch, #41 this time. It's side 2 of a 2 page layout, the first one is here.

I used 2 MS punches, one for the hearts on the bottom of the red layer, and a punch around the page for the orange layer. From Wall Decore and more, I cut a star with swirls @ 4 and the star border @ 1.3. I welded two borders together with my G and copied one to a new page. I used hide contour to make a blackout border in blue and the regular border in green. I also cut a few extra stars in different sizes. Once I picked the sizes I wanted, I embossed 4 of them. I used Mother's Day 2010 to cut out the "top note" shape @ 2 and 6.

A Few Cards

Good Morning!

I've been doing so many layouts lately, I decided to do a few cards. I received an e-mail from Card Makers magazine (I let my subscription go last year.) In the advertizement was a picture of a card that I really liked. It was such a simple design, but would be perfect for all my left over scrap pieces that I couldn't resist!

Back in February I did a post (Here) about organizing my room and in that post I put up an idea I had found about storing paper sets. In my case, it's K&Company matching paper pads, 3D stickers, borders, ect in one big ziploc... I also put in all my left over scraps instead of having to dig through drawers for them! This set up is so perfect for this project!

I started out with a white 5 X 6.5 base. I cut two strips, 1.5 X 3 and 1 at 2.75 X 3.5. I did not use one single full sheet of patterned paper! I did with the solid background papers, but only 2 sheets... the rest I used scraps on.

Frosted Design # 37

Good Morning!

For today's layout I followed along with Sketch along Tuesdays over at Frosted Designs . They used another fantastic sketch from Jenny Evans.

I've had some cute butterfly stickers for awhile now and I know that you can color them, but I've never tried it... until today. I was thrilled with how much it changed the stickers. I don't have the packaging anymore, so I'm not sure of the name brand. The sheet of stickers...

This is the one I chose to use...

I used my Marvy markers and colored the back side. I held the sticker with my tweezer to color it...

This is the front side...

You can see the flowers that I also colored...

Another one I colored...

From Nate's ABC's, I cut out Bentlee's name @ 1.5. The butterfly with trail was cut from Give a Hoot @ 1.5 and the larger butterfly was also cut from Give a Hoot @ 3. Of course I also "dressed" them up a bit with stickles! lol

I was thrilled with how this all turned out!

Simple LO

Good Morning!

Today's LO is beyond simple! lol I've had this paper for awhile, I was saving it for something special, although I didn't know what. I love this paper and I didn't want to add much to it and hide the paper, so I just went with some matting for the picture of my Grandson and I snuggling. I added two butterfly borders from Give a Hoot. Using Design Studio I put two on the mat @ 1, and flipped one of them and welded them together. I used some brown stickles for the body of the butterflies.

Sketch savvy sketc #42

Good Morning!

Today I followed a sketch from Sketch Savvy , #42.

I used my Imagine and CCR to cut out the shape. I forgot to look at the size, I just stretched it out to fit most of the page. I cut one in blue and then another one from my K&Company paper stack.

The pictures of of my parents and (of course!!) my Grandson. The bottom picture also has my nephew in it. My Grandson's Uncle Jordan is 1 year older than him. lol The flowers and swirls are from my old sticker stash.

Mojo Monday Sketch 233

Good Morning!

I followed along with Mojo Monday 233 sketch. It was different than the type of cards I normally do, which made it a lot of fun!

I used Kate's ABC's for the flower pot, cut @ 4. I love this cartridge!! For the border, I used an MS punch and I used my new K&Company paper pack. I also used a lot of stickles and I used glossy accents on the bottom of the flower pot.

Sketch Savvy sketch

Good Morning!

I'm slowly but surely getting caught up on my Scrapbook pages! I've been all over the place with pictures, so I decided to start working in order for awhile.

I did two pages with the sketch above.

The first one is just after my youngest son's son was born. It was so awesome to see them both so emotional after his birth! That was 4th best day of my life, the first 3 were the birth of my own kids. I will never forget being in the delivery room all day and being right there was my 1st Grandson was born.

The 2nd LO was when my Grandson was 1 week and 1 day old, they brought him out to visit.

Creative Scrappers sketch #198

Good Morning,

I was able to get some scrapping time in this past weekend! With everything going on in my life right now, I've been following sketches instead of doing my "own thing." While it allows me to be creative, I don't spend as much time thinking about what I want to do... just how I want to do it.

Today's layout is using Creative Scrappers sketch #198 and some new K&Company paper.

Sketch LO~ Rub a dub

Good Morning!

The theme this week at Sweetsassydiva's is to follow a sketch. (This sketch is from Scrapbooks etc)

I used Splish Splash for the soap bottle~ cut @ 3, fish~ cut @ 3, sea horse~ cut @ 3.5 and rub-a-dub ` cut @ 2.

I used my white gel pen to add stitching all around the outside border and also down the inside of the bubbles borders. I added stickles wherever I could!

Another Liz Qualman sketch!

Good Morning!

For my LO today, I followed a sketch by Liz Qualman at My Little Sketch Blook.

I loved her take on her sketch and the colors she used HERE!

I started out thinking this would be an easy sketch for me to follow. I knew I wanted greens and I had the three pictures of my Grandson that would fit perfectly. But... of course it didn't work out that way! I cut up 3 different sets of papers and wasn't happy with any of them. I'm not totally thrilled with the colors/patterns I ended up using, but only because it wasn't what I had in my head when I started out. I admit, I loved Liz's purples!! The one nice thing was that I used some old papers, stickers and ribbon. My goal this year is to use up more of my older stash! I

Spring Blooms

Good Morning!

Today's theme at Sweetsassydiva's is Spring Blooms.

I used Flower Shoppe for 2 of the flowers and one leaf. The rest were flowers from my stash. For those who follow my blog know, I'm working on using up what I have before I buy anything else. To make the flowers from Flower Shoppe, I used the first one on the cartridge, cut @ 3.

I start rolling it with my tool from Hobby Lobby. I like to roll my flowers tight, but that's personal preference.

I added a glue dot to the bottom and the flower is complete.

Complete, but boring. lol I added Strawberry ice stickles to the petals.

I added liquid pearls, petal ink to the center.

From Paper Trimmings I cut 2 floral borders, at 1.5 each. Adding stickles to one border and pearls to another. I also added some left over swirled gems around the flowers.

I cut 4 pictures into various sized circles for something different. The main picture is 4 X 4. The light pink mat is 4 1/8 X 5.75 and I used Perfect Plumeria ink around the edges. The hot pink mat is 4.25 X 6. I added 2 colored circles matted on white for my journaling.
