Using up my scraps!

Good Morning!

On Tuesday I posted some cards I made using Kathy's One Sheet Wonder, HERE.  I thought Kathy's ideas would also work out great using some of my favorite scrap pieces, which I think it does!  I made several cards using her sketch, so this is a bit picture heavy and in no particular order.  :)

For the next card I had some clear white butterflies that I colored with my chalk inks.  I love how it turned out!

Have a great day!  Thanks for looking.  :)

Tri Shutter Card

Good Morning!

It's been quite a while since I made a Tri Shutter card, so I decided to make another one.  I forgot how much work they are cutting them out by hand!  My G doesn't want to cut out welded images on my Expression, so everything was done by hand.

Where flowers bloom

Good Morning!

Another fun sketch this week from Mojo Monday.

My take on the sketch....

I used a lot of liquid pearls on this card.  Because of that, I also used foam tape to go the liquid pearls on my circle without smashing them down.

I also used embossing enamel on my verve stamp and a white gel pen around it.

I have a bad habit of forgetting this next step!  When I cut out my matting for my card base, I try to remember (but lately forget! lol) to cut something/anything out of the center, since no one will see it anyways.  I actually remembered this time and thought maybe if I shared this step I could help someone else save some paper and remember this myself!  :)

8X8 sheet of Christmas Cards

Good Morning!

While surfing the internet the other day for ideas, I found Joyfully Made Designs,  Kathy posted a diagram (here) of how to cut out 9 cards from an 8x8 sheet of patterned paper.  Be sure to checkout her blog, she has some amazing creations!!   I've seen these before, but have never done one.  While it was great to get so many cards out of one of my favorite sheets of K&Company paper, I found myself not spending the time I usually do on my cards, so I think I'll have to try this again!  :)   The post Kathy did is here

Fall leaves and The Sweet Shop

Good Afternoon!

I played along with The Sweet Shop again, I really love their sketches!  I know it's more for stampers, but we all know I stink at stamping! LOL

My inspiration for this card is all the beautiful leaves on my tree!  Excuse me, on the ground!  LOL   Anyways... :)

The sketch...
My take on it...
I though this was too plain, so I grabbed my gel pen and liquid pearls, kicked Sassy off my table and went to work!

Much better, I think.  It's a busy card, but I love how it turned out.  I used ultra thick embossing enamel on the leaves, doing 4 coats.

Fall Leaves ~picture heavy!

Good Morning!

I've been playing around in my craft room and online looking at different ideas to try.   I've spent a lot of time looking at Card-Making Magic and  Amazing Paper Grace.  While looking around I came up with the idea to make a card with a frame using my spellbinders.  My Mom bought an embossing folder with leaves and swirls that she wanted me to make a card with.  As it usually happens, the first one didn't turn out as good as I wanted it to.  :)

If you look closely, you'll see my mess from the hot glue gun.  I also used pop dots that were too large.  I liked the card in general, but wanted to fix my mistakes.

I started out coloring my embossed image of the leaves and swirls...
Next I cut my leaves from my Spellbinders dies and colored them with 4 different colored inks.
Then I used my Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel.  I used 3 or 4 layers on each leaf.

I cut out the frame using Labels 25, the 1 and 3rd dies.
Next I cut into my card using Majestic Labels 25
I also cut out a tag from Spellbinders, sorry, I don't know the name of it!
I cut out a background piece for the inside of my card using yellow glitter paper.  Then I put it all together, being more careful then the first card!

I think I liked the colors in the first card better.  lol

2 Thanksgiving Cards

Good Morning!

I'm still working with Graphic 45's a Place In Time collection.  I have two different Thanksgiving cards and one for a November birthday.

I love this next card.  I found some old ribbon with gold trim and loops cut into the ribbon.  I threaded some brown ribbon through and changed the whole look.

This last card is for a November birthday.  You will (hopefully!) see on the detail shots where I used a stamp and then ultra thick embossing enamel on it.
