Good Morning!

I'm a little behind this week, but Mojo Monday was right on schedule on Monday.  Typically I don't care for "tall and skinny," but I made the effort anyways.

Verve Stamps: Wonderfully Made

Good Morning!

I have several cards today that I made over the weekend, the first 3 are my favorites.  The first one is a Praying for You card I made for a friend in ICU.  The stamp is from Verve called Wonderfully Made.  It was done mostly with my new Metallic Gelato's.  The background, butterflies and tag were all done them.

From the same stamp set, I also made several cards for my Mom.  The background was just patterned paper.  The corner and butterfly were cut from Spellbinders, colored with Gelato's and then I used Ultra thick embossing power on it.  I added stickles to the corner piece also.

The last of my favorite cards for today was also using patterned paper for the background and sentiment and butterflies done with Gelato's.

I made 3 others, but I wasn't as thrilled with them as the first 3.  :)

Good Morning!

Tuesday Morning Sketches posted their newest sketch yesterday.  Instead of doing what I should be doing this morning, I made two cards with their sketch.  :)

I used a Verve stamp that my Mom asked me to make some cards with and of course, my Gelato's.

Mojo Monday #385 & Gelato's

It's Mojo Monday time and I have two new cards for this week's sketch.

The sketch...

The 1st card I made using my Heartfelt Creations paper, a white gel pen and liquid pearls...

My 2nd card I made because while finishing up the first one, I realized this sketch would have been a perfect place to use some of things I made this past weekend with my Gelato's...

On the close up photo's, you will be able to see that I used the blue and green metallic Gelato's for the strip of paper, the labels 20 and the butterfly.  I added gems around the strip of paper.  For the labels 20 tag I used the emboss resist with white embossing powder and topped it with the JudiKins Extreme Peacock for the sparkle.  The butterfly was done the same way, except before topping it, I used UTTE to thicken it up and give it a glossy shine.

With the windchill being minus 13 yesterday, I spent all morning in my craft room staying warm and having fun!  Viva la Verve Sketches is back from their winter break and posted two awesome sketches so far this month.  :)

Gelato background and TMS

Good Morning, again!

I wanted to try making another background with my Gelato's and no embossing this time.  I also thought that there may be people like me, who either haven't yet tried Gelato's or are just starting to play around with them, so I'm posting today on how I made my background.  I'm also playing along with Tuesday Morning Sketches again today.  Did I mention that I loved this sketch?!  lol

The sketch, again...

I started out with a 4.75 X 6.75 piece of watercolor paper.  (Plain cardstart doesn't work as well, unless you use Gesso on it first.)  I used 4 different colors and scattered them all over the paper.

I took a baby wipes and blended in everything.  I used short fast strokes, instead of just wiping over the whole thing.  I personally like the results that way, but that's just my opinion.

Last week I made several corner's and butterflies.  I colored them with Gelato's and used Ultra Thick Embossing Powder, 3 or 4 coats.  Since I'm not a fan of working with dry glitter, I added Stickles once they cooled down.

I forgot to take a picture of the Spellbinders lables twenty die cut, that I heat embossed and colored with the Gelato's last week.  (I made up a lot of different things last week, just learning new ways to use the Gelato's.)  I used one of the butterflies from above and pop dots to attach it.

I used liquid pearls to make the butterfly trail.  I also used cotton candy Gelato's to go over my embossing piece and added liquid pearls to that also.  I used the corner piece from the photo above.

All put together, finally ....

As I mentioned yesterday, I spent some time this past weekend trying different things with my gelato's and heat embossing to make some backgrounds. I used one of the backgrounds yesterday and today I used the other one.  Tuesday Morning sketches had the perfect sketch to show off the background.

The center of the circle is an awesome digi from The Doddle Pantry.  I love these butterflies!!  I added a little bit of stickles and some liquid pearls to the butterfly, although it would have looked great just plain also.

Good Morning!

Mojo Monday posted another great sketch this week.

I spent some time this past weekend trying different things with my gelato's and heat embossing to make some backgrounds.  One of the backgrounds worked great with this sketch...

I also used a digi stamp from the Doddle Pantry for the words and a flower image from my computer.

Along with some ribbon, pearls and an embossing folder to finish up the card...

I'll be back tomorrow with the other background I made.
