Cards from scraps & a layout

Good Morning!

Tuesday Morning Sketches has a sketch up this week that's excellent for using up scraps! 

The sketch...

I made several cards with this sketch, all from scraps!  I keep my paper packs stored in large ziplock bags hanging on skirt hangers.  It's a great way to keep matching borders and 3d stickers together along with left over scraps.  So today was super easy to grab a bag and make multiple cards using just scrap pieces.

I also put together another layout.  I followed the same sketch from Monday. 

Rummy at 8 weeks old...

Rummy and Sassy, Rummy was 6 years old and Sassy was just 6 months old...

Rummy just as he got sick, about 5 months before he died.

While I don't think this one turned out as well as the one I did on Monday, I wanted to use the poem, which I really liked.

My Grandson was having so much fun in my craftroom.  I'll post a layout later this week of the "picture" he "colored" for me, which is what he had been doing right before I snapped this picture.

Rummy

Good Morning!

My Scraps and More Sketches has an awesome sketch up this week!!  This is a sketch you'll be seeing again and again here.  I had so many ideas when looking at the sketch!

The sketch...

It's been 41 days since Rummy died, and this past week I've been finally able to work on some of his pictures.  I still have a poem I want to use, but it didn't fit into this sketch with the picture I wanted to use, but like I said, I have lot of different ideas for this sketch.  lol  I totally love how this turned out!

Anyways... on to my layout...

Playtime with Dad

Good Morning!

Today's layout is using the Sketches in Thyme sketch.  I love this sketch!

Normally, when I follow a sketch the first thing after I pick out my pictures and then pick their sizes.

Next I figure out what sizes to use for the various pieces of paper in the sketch and I write them on the sketch itself.  That way, if I love how it turns out I already have the sizes if I use it again!  Although if I really don't like it, I also know what sizes NOT to use.  LOL  For example, on this layout I wrote on the sketch to change the bottom patterned paper to 8 X 11 instead of 6 X 10.

If I'm not sure, I use some of the white paper that comes my scrapbooks and cut them into the sizes I think I want to use to make sure it all fits together nicely.  If I like it, I start cutting out my patterned paper and put my layout together.  I don't always do that for layouts,  but I almost always do it for cards.

{I REALLY should have done it with this sketch because I had the disadvantage of not having all my pictures printed, so I'm the first to admit I did NOT do the sketch justice.}

SOUS Card sketch

Good Morning!

StuckOnUSketches post their card sketch.  This size isn't normally the type of card I do, but I wanted to try something different.  While I liked the sketch, I'm not so sure what I think of the card I came up with.
