More Candle Boxes ~ part 2

Good Morning!

As I posted yesterday, I re-sized the candle boxes that I made from John's post HERE.  I have two different size battery operated votive candles, so in the end, I made 3 different sized boxes.  The last one I made is the one I'm using for my Mom...

This is for a bigger sized votive, I made it 2 3/4 inches by 4 1/2 inches high.  Because this all started with John's tutorial, I call the two sides of paper sheet 1 and sheet 2.  Sheet 1 is 6 x 7 1/2 and Sheet 2 is 5 1/2 x 7 1/2.  I also cut two square pieces cut at 2 3/4.  Sheet 1 is scored, starting with the 6 in length at the top, at 1/4 and 3 and 5 3/4 inches.  Turning the sheet to the 7 1/2 side at the top of the scor pal, scoring at 2 3/4 and 7 1/4.  Sheet 2, with the 5 1/2 at the top of the scor pal, score at 2 3/4, turn the sheet 90 degrees and score at 2 3/4 and 7 1/4.

I also made one 2 x 4 inches.  (If you need the specs, just let me know.)  I wasn't sure if I was going to use this size, so I didn't decorate it yet.

The final size I made (so far! LOL) was 3 x 4.  (Again, e-mail me if you need the specs for this one.)  I didn't decorate this one either.

And the three from today, plus the one from yesterday's post....

More Candle Boxes ~ part 1

Good Morning!

I "blame" John from John Next Door and my husband for today's (and tomorrow's)  post!  (Thanks guys! :) )

I made another candle box, intending to give it to a friend who really liked the first one I made (here).  I showed it to my husband and he told me I always give away the "good ones", so I'm keeping this one....

and giving away the white one.

Next I made another one, intending it for my Mom for her birthday next month.  This one has a color changing candle inside, which looks really cool.  The paper is from DCWV's new paper stack at JoAnn's.

I showed this one to my husband and we talked about how my Mom always has candles on her table for big family gatherings.  I then mentioned that maybe I could re-figure the box size and make some for votive candles.  My husband suggested I give her the large box with two smaller boxes to sit on the side of it.  I loved the idea, the only problem being I used up the paper the matched the large candle.  lol

I am planning on finishing those up today and will post them tomorrow.  John, I LOVE your candle boxes and I thank you very much for the tutorial.... but.... wow, I'm spending a lot of time on these!  LOL

Bon Bon Box

Good Morning!

While checking out the Graphic 45 blog the other day, I found THIS post.  I thought it would be a great idea for my big family Christmas this year.  We have 6 little ones 3 years old and younger.  I thought I would fill them with Yogurt Treats that they all love.

While I do like this size, it's the size they used one the Graphic45 post, I decided to make a smaller one also.  I cut it out at 12x6.5.  I scored at 2,4 & 6 and then along the long size at 3/4, 1 1/2 & 2 1/4.

Have a great weekend!

Good Morning!

My son-in-laws birthday was Monday and my daughter suggested an Elmo card for him.  Using Sesame Street Friends Cricut Cartridge, I cut out Elmo at 4.5.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #222

Good Morning!

I was able to play along with Tuesday Morning Sketches again this week!  Aside from having a great sketch to work with, I was also able to use some new products that I bought last week and my favorite paper... it just made making this card even more fun!

The sketch...
Instead of using the shapes, I used some Prima Flowers, which I've never used before.  I love the flowers, but they were hard to attach to my card.  I also used some baby bling from Want2Scrap.  I've heard great things about their bling, but (atleast with the baby bling) I don't see any difference from the cheap bling I usually buy.  I have one more thing to try from them, so we'll see.

My card....

Candle Box from John Next Door!

Good Morning!

Last week John, from John Next Door posted an awesome candle box.  I loved it so much I had to write him and ask for the specs.  He wrote me back right away and promised do a tutorial the following week.  He posted it on Tuesday and you can find it HERE!  John's tutorial was great and I have nothing to add to it, with maybe the exception of decorating it before you put it together.  But I think that's just a personal preference.

The sides....

The top...

and with the battery operated candle inside lit...

I LOVE how this turned out... Thanks so much John for the great project and tutorial!!
