My Creative Sketches LO

Good Morning!

My Creative Sketches has their February sketch posted and it is Awesome!!!  The layouts the DT have done are amazing also.  While I love what they ALL have done, the one that inspired me the most is from Jodi Baune.  She used what looks like border dies to border her whole page.  I've used around the page punches before, but never thought to use borders around the page.

My take on the sketch...
The punch I used is an around the page punch, but I didn't use the corner punch.  I wanted the cut out part on the inside.  I cut 4 strips 12in across and then trimmed them down to 1 1/4 after they were punched.  Sassy did give her approval.  LOL
I cut  each end at an angle and put them together on my page.  I love the look of doing it this way... thank you Jodi!

I went shopping with my Mom yesterday and picked up some Graphic45 papers and a sheet of stickers.  The Forget Me Not was from G45.  The other 3 were from K&Company.

Over the hill birthday Card

Good Morning!

Stuck On U Sketches has another sketch up.  Although this was meant to be for a layout, I wanted to use it for a card sketch.  I haven't been taking many pictures lately, so I don't have anything new to scrap.  lol

Happy Birthday card

Good Afternoon!

I was able to play along at Tuesday Morning Sketches today and make a card for my Mom In Law.  While I'm not much of a stamper, I'm always impressed with the cards the DT creates at TMS!

Floral butterflies

Good Morning!

My Scraps and More has this sketch posted on the blog, here.  Note that that is not their sketch site, but their regular blog site.  I freely admit to getting a bit confused with all the different web sites and social media.  I found this sketch totally by mistake, but I'm so glad I did, I LOVE this sketch.

The sketch...

I wanted to do something with some of my floral paper.  In the last two years, we've had 5 babies born into the family and not a one was a girl.  My daughter is getting married this summer, so maybe next year.  lol  Anyway, I did the layout with no pictures in mind.  I thought when I was finishing it up maybe I could use some of the pictures of my cats.  {I had 2 girls and a boy, which is why the matting is in pinks and blue. }  I found 3 pictures of my Grandson playing in the cats house and they fit perfectly, so I used them, even if the sketch is more girly.  :)

Balloons!

Good Morning!

StuckOnUSketches newest Die Cut Challenge is Balloons!  Since I had already done up my Grandson's 1st birthday pictures, I was going to skip this challenge.  Then while looking through Provo Crafts Create-a-critter cartridge book I seen some balloon hearts, so I decided to use them for my husband's Valentine's Day card.

I wasn't happy with this card at all, and I wasn't going to post it.  I can't recall how many times I posted something that I really didn't like and other people really did.  I guess I just have horrible taste!  <laughing>  Be sure to stop by SOUS and see what the DT has come up with, they have some awesome layouts posted!!!

Have a great day!

Cards from scraps & a layout

Good Morning!

Tuesday Morning Sketches has a sketch up this week that's excellent for using up scraps!

The sketch...

I made several cards with this sketch, all from scraps!  I keep my paper packs stored in large ziplock bags hanging on skirt hangers.  It's a great way to keep matching borders and 3d stickers together along with left over scraps.  So today was super easy to grab a bag and make multiple cards using just scrap pieces.

I also put together another layout.  I followed the same sketch from Monday

Rummy at 8 weeks old...

Rummy and Sassy, Rummy was 6 years old and Sassy was just 6 months old...

Rummy just as he got sick, about 5 months before he died.

While I don't think this one turned out as well as the one I did on Monday, I wanted to use the poem, which I really liked.

Have a great day!
