Scarety Cat

While looking through my cartridge library for a camel, I ran across the cat from Paper Doll Dress Up and inspiration hit. Ok, maybe it was more that I really didn't feel like paying bills today! LOL I've spent so much crafting this week that I haven't gotten anything else done. I told myself today I would get caught up on stuff before the weekend. Oops!! LOL I really hate to "waste" inspiration when it hits, so I ran with it. My sister is turning 50 this year is isn't real happy about it, so when I seen the cat (She has a black cat) I couldn't resist this one! (Can you hear me snickering?!) Anyways, the cat was cut @ 7.5 and the words "how old?" were cut @ 3 from Lyrical Letters. "Your" was cut from the Stamping cartridge at 2 and I used DS to hide "it's" and "day". I used a white gel pen for the lines and pink stickles on the face.

Iris Folding Sail boat

I've seen several things on the web done with Iris folding and decided to give it a try. I found several templates and a great "how to" here. Since cutting is not my strong suit, nor do I like doing it... LOL that is WHY I have my bug!! ... I took the sail boat from Life is a beach cut @ 5 with a shaped card face from Cindy Loo cut @ 6.4.

I won't get into showing exactly how to make these cards since circle of crafters has a better tutorial. I will point out a few things. You can take the triangle template (I colored mine in highlighters to make things easier) and use any design with it. There is also a square you can use. Remember you can also increase and decrease the size you print the templates out at to fit your needs. Also remember to always work on the back side of your card. :)

The rest is all up to your imagination and their idea gallery lol

This is the first one I made. I used liquid pearls to cover up my lousy cutting job on the front!

Celebrating Memorial Day LO

Good Morning!

When my son was younger he was in the Memorial Day parade. So to celebrate Memorial Day this year I decided to do a 2 page lay out. I used K&Company's Americana paper pack and some solid color papers. I used several different cartridges, MS all occasions, George, Stand and Salute and A Child's Year.

The banners from Stand and Salute were cut @ 2.5.
The hat was cut @ 1.75, also from Stand and Salute.
The photo mats were all cut @ 6.75 X 4.75, 5.75 X 4.5 and 5.25 X 4.
The grass from MS All Occasions was cut @ .75 X 12 two times.
The children are from ACY and were cut @ 5.15, 4.15 and 4.0 with the layers.
The pinwheels were cut @ 1.5, also from A Child's Year.
I used some stars and stripes ribbon between the stars and strips paper.
I also used some star ribbon to accent all the photo mats.

Liquid Pearls

While liquid pearls have been around for awhile, I've never seen them before. I found them this weekend in my LSS. I had to try them, so I took a pyramid card I made this weekend that my LSS store also had (I've shown them before here) and added the pink liquid pearls to the border. I really like the depth it gave the card!

Pelican Birthday Card

Good Morning!

This weeks theme at SweetSassyDiva is the beach! My husband and I have a small place on a small lake, so our summer is filled with fishing. Ok, he fishes ~ I mostly throw a line in and then read or play on my gypsy and take pictures! The lake we fish at is, like most lakes, surrounded by cattails and has a lot of pelicans and seagulls and one small beach. When I heard the theme was beach I immediately thought seagulls and pelicans. lol My husband's birthday is coming up this week so I decided to combine both and make him a card.

For the tag I used a spellbinders die. Everything else was cut from Life is a Beach. The cattails were cut @ 2 and 3, the pelican was cut @ 3 and the water was cut @ .75. I just used the inside of the water cut. I also only used a tiny bit of crystal stickles.

A sketch from Pam

Good Morning!

The last few days I've been working on design team projects. While looking around for a new idea, I stopped by Pam's Blog, The Bugbytes . She had the most inspiring sketch!! The minute I seen it ideas started forming and I actually got excited about it. I could've used her sketch for one of my DT posts, but I didn't want to wait. lol I'm hoping Pam makes more sketches! This is the first sketch I've ever used.

Almost everything on my LO came from Kate's ABCs and a few things from George. It was fun to make all the cuts for this LO... it was also the first time I've used Kate's ABCs. {If your interested in sizes, e-mail me and I will send you my DS or gypsy file.}

{Click on the image for a closer look}

I have to look for it, but I have the most adorable picture of my daughter (22) and my niece (21) when they were little. They were having a "girls night out" at Grandma's house, which always included shopping and playing dress up. The picture I'm thinking of is with them both in curlers and wearing my sisters prom dress and one of her bride's maid dresses. I think they girls were around 5 or 6 at the time. This one will go in a frame on my craft room wall.

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!!
